How to Configure Imap in Outlook

Setting up an IMAP account in Outlook is a simple process that only requires a few steps. First, open Outlook and click on the File tab. Next, click on Add Account.

A new window will open asking for your email address and password. Enter your email address and password, then click on the More Settings button. In the next window, select the Outgoing Server tab and check the box next to My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.

Then select the Advanced tab and enter 993 in the Incoming server (IMAP) field and 465 in the Outgoing server (SMTP) field. Finally, click OK to save your changes and close the window.

  • Next click on the Advanced tab, under Server Port Numbers change the Outgoing server (SMTP): 465 enter 995 in the box next to Incoming server (IMAP): 143
  • With SSL selected for both These port numbers will now be changed to their correct SSL settings automatically
  • Now click OK twice
  • Last step is to Click on Test Account Settings… make sure everything tests out okay before clicking Close then Finish

Imap Settings for Outlook 2016
