With that done, click OK. Now it’s time to boot up your VM in order to configure IOU inside of it. To do that, simply double-click on your newly created VM in VirtualBox and choose your ISO file when prompted.

Once IOU boots up, press Enter when prompted for a login name and then enter iou as the password (this is case-sensitive). At the prompt now type in: copy tftp://[GNS server IP]/iou_l2_l3-adventerprisek9-mz.[IOS version].

The next thing you want to do is head into Settings > Network Adapter 1 and change it from NAT mode into Bridged mode; this will allow your guest machine (the GNS3 VM) direct access to your network instead of going through a NAT router .

Finally , under Settings > Options , make sure both checkboxes are ticked for Sharing Folders between Host and Guest OS . By doing this , any files saved in specific folders on your computer will automatically be available inside th e guest machine , making it much easier t o transfer files back an d forth .
